Consultation on Mental Health services gets underway. Although not formally part of Closer to Home, these proposals will improve inpatient and residential care. Consultation runs from 9 June 2008 to 30 September 2008. Find out more. 

NHS Cumbria and the County Council launch the strategic outline case for the Cumbria Community Ventures bid. This bid combines health and social services in a unique way by developing community hospitals alongside residential care for older people, both important elements of bringing care Closer to Home.
